Yaodong
and I recorded each other using this program the other day and I was surprised
at how well it worked (we were in the Wimba Voice Direct chat room at the time).
The only problem is, it was not recording our own speech from our own
computer microphones.
What you could do then is get two computers both Internet connected (one on DSL,
one on your phone line, let's say, or two computers on your LAN).
Enter the voice chat as yourself on once computer and
interact normally. Use the other
computer to record the session (including your voice).
The demo only allows a minute or two of recording, then cuts off. But
in that time it gets a very clear recording.
Another type of software you might look at is 'video capture.'
With TotalRecord you are in effect capturing sound streaming on your
computer. With video capture
software you are doing the same thing (though you might not capture video
images, just sound).

1.Record sound being played by
other computer programs (e.g. RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, Quick Time,
WinAmp) including live Internet broadcasts. This feature is unique to Total
Recorder and is not available in the vast majority of other sound recording
programs.

I wait for you to tell me how one
makes it work online.
Enjoy!

Vance,
We tried recording video with sound and only the sound was recorded, and very
clearly, as you said. Then we tried recording just music playing in our computer
and it came out with great quality.
